What’s in the pack
The Mushroom Monster is a 2-meter-tall creature for fantasy games. It first came out in 2015, and we still update it for Unity 6.
It can stand in any of three static poses, waiting to surprise an opponent. Once it moves, it runs, attacks, casts spells and charges. It bashes enemies with its head, jumps at them to bash them, or runs straight at them head down, and its magic attack twists and slices with its head. The pack includes sound effects and a demo scene.
Make it your own
Use its blend shapes to morph the mesh into many different looks, so a forest full of Mushroom Monsters doesn’t look like copies of one model. The Blend Shapes Manager script saves presets, sets limits and randomizes the shapes, even at runtime, so every mushroom you spawn can be different.
Once you own the pack, four bonus packages are free on the Asset Store: concept art, files for the Atavism MMO platform, custom-composed music and an Unreal project.
The Unity 6.0 version ships with Built-in materials that you can upgrade to URP or HDRP in the Editor. The Unity 6.3 version ships in URP.
Bundles and other versions
Monster Collection #1, a bundle of 20 monster packs, includes the Mushroom Monster. If your project uses Synty Studios’ POLYGON packs, Low Poly Character - Mushroom Monster remodels it in a faceted low poly style made to work with them, with the same animations, mesh morphing and color shifting textures.
The high-fidelity series is mobile ready: characters from it ran in The Barbarian, our action RPG for iPhone and iPad. The pack doesn’t include LODs, so make ones that fit the devices you target.
For Unreal Engine, start with the Unreal project in the bonus files. For Godot 4, see our Unreal & Godot guide.
