What’s in the pack
Gargoyles gives you a muscular, winged gargoyle that works as an enemy or as a player character. Statue poses let it hold still like a carving on a cathedral roof. It can be stone, metal or marble, or a living creature of flesh and blood.
A large set of animations covers the ground and the air, including walking and flying backward and taking a hit in flight. Magic spell particles go with its cast animation. The pack also includes textures, materials, sound effects and a demo scene.
Free bonus packages add the Substance Painter source files, concept art, custom music and an Unreal project. Bonus files are separate Asset Store packages that you can get for free once you own Gargoyles.
Gargoyles was the first Infinity PBR release, back in 2015, and it’s kept up to date for Unity 6.
Make it your own
Mesh morphing uses blend shapes to change the gargoyle’s shape. These shapes change the model’s look rather than animate it. The Blend Shapes Manager saves looks you like as presets, sets limits for each shape and randomizes them, even at runtime, so a whole rooftop of gargoyles doesn’t have to look the same.
Need a move the pack doesn’t have? Blend the included animations with Animation Layers in Unity’s Animator to create new ones.
For new colors and finishes, open the Substance Painter source files and export texture maps for the Built-in Render Pipeline, URP or HDRP.
Using it in your game
The high-fidelity series is mobile ready: characters from the series ran in The Barbarian, our action RPG for iPhone and iPad. The pack doesn’t include LODs, so create them for the devices you target.
On Unity 6.0, the materials and demo scene ship in the Built-in Render Pipeline, and you can upgrade them to URP or HDRP in the Editor. On Unity 6.3, they ship in URP. For Unreal Engine, start with the Unreal project in the bonus files. For Godot 4, see our Unreal and Godot guide.
Gargoyles is part of Monster Collection #1, along with Dragon Skeleton and many other monsters. For a faceted style, Low Poly Character - Gargoyle is made to work with Synty Studios’ POLYGON packs, and it’s in Low Poly Monster Bundle 1.
